PbP-LA Kicks off Plate by Plate Ticket Kickoff at Jlounge Restaurant and Lounge |
|
On Thursday June 30th, at J Restaurant and Lounge in Downtown Los Angeles, ticket sales for Plate by Plate: Project by Project LA's 9th Annual Food & Wine Tasting Benefit officially went underway. For one night only, tickets were offered at a special discounted price: only $100 (General Admission: $150)!
J Lounge provided the perfect outdoor setting for the warm summer evening, and guests arrived from all across Los Angeles to meet with one another and support the joint efforts of Project By Project and AYC Youth and Family Services. Complimentary appetizers were served to the guests and memorable toasts were made by Lotay Yang, CFO of AYC Youth and Family Services and 2011 PbPLA President JT Kim. By the end of the night over 100 tickets had been sold and over $11,0000 was raised, with still more than a month remaining before Plate by Plate 2011 takes place at the historic Vibiana event space!

We are thrilled to have popular food blogger, Kevin, of kevineats.com join PbP this year as an advisor to Project by Project’s annual food and wine tasting benefit, Plate by Plate. As fans of his blog, we were thrilled to read his review about Plate by Plate in 2010. Check it out below! On Saturday, August 14, at the California Science Center's Wallis Annenberg Building, Project by Project hosted its eighth Annual Tasting Benefit, Plate by Plate. Project by Project is a national tax-exempt volunteer organization centered around issues relating to the Asian American community. Each year, PbP chooses a charitable organization to partner with, and this year, it was the Health Justice Network, a non-profit group focused on addressing health disparities and access to quality healthcare services. As always, this event showcased the gastronomic talents of some of LA's most popular restaurants, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from a bevy of leading purveyors.
Now on to the food...
