Communities in action
The Asian American community is often seen as a single story—but the reality is far more complex. Across Los Angeles, Orange County and beyond, grassroots community-based organizations (CBOs) are doing the work that often goes unseen—but is deeply felt.
Communities in Action highlights the vital grassroots work that sustains and strengthens our neighborhoods. This year, Project by Project will focus on supporting these organizations that serve as resource hubs and anchors within AAPI communities.
By focusing on these priorities, we aim to strengthen grassroots CBOs’ capacity to directly assist individuals and families in need. We invite our supporters to champion these organizations and join Project by Project in building resilient communities in action.
2026 Beneficiary partner
Project by Project Los Angeles’s 2026 Beneficiary Partner is Lincoln Heights Tutorial Program (LHTP), a grassroots non-profit organization that empowers at-risk urban youth from under-resourced communities in East Los Angeles.
They support students from predominantly first- and second-generation Asian American and Latino immigrant families, many of whom face language barriers and limited access to academic resources.
As all of their participating students come from families living at or below the federal poverty level, LHTP is committed to closing the academic gap and developing leaders who contribute positively to their communities.
